Nordic ARC was founded in response to a critical need: the lack of skilled communication and facilitation among diverse actors within the food system. Research, policy, and practice often operate in silos, and Nordic ARC steps in to foster meaningful dialogue, solution-oriented collaboration and maximise research impact.

Founded in 2025, Nordic ARC is a young organization that has already made significant strides. As a founding member of the Nordic Agroecology Education and Research Network, we are connected to a vibrant community of researchers, farmers, and food system actors across the Nordics and the EU. This growing network reflects our commitment to collaboration and shared learning.

Dr. Michael Löbmann, the founder and CEO of Nordic ARC, is a biologist and agroecologist. He firmly believes that sustainable decisions are not made by specialists alone, rather a broad panel that is supported by diverse actors. He emphasises co-creation with farmers, researchers, policymakers, and civil society to drive sustainable transformation. And Nordic ARC specialises in linking the pieces, communicating back and forth between actors to make impact happen. For a deeper dive into the methodology behind Nordic ARC, read about Agroecology.

Our vision guides everything we do. And we aim to become a leading player in sustainable development research and implementation. We want to advance the theoretical foundations of agroecological research while also supporting its practical application, inspiring a new generation of agroecological researchers, practitioners, managers, and entrepreneurs.
